Hello!

I have uploaded the Methods and Organizations Codebook to google Drive. While making them, I found minor issues with the coding (similar to those with the Case Data CSV).

  1. Method:

The variable level_polarization has two coding strategies for the values. The data shows that "high polarization" is coded as high in some rows and high_polarization in others. This problem applies to the other values as well: Polarized, Moderate polarization, Low polarization, and Not polarized. I can add a line to indicate that they are the same in the codebook as a patch now, but we should update it later.

The online form mentions "Select up to three ways votes are made with this method, with “1” indicating the most typical form of voting. What kind of voting is used?", but the CSV only has information for two ways votes are made (if_voting_1 and if_voting_2). I think here we should just edit the online form to say "two ways".

  1. Organizations

The variable sector has the same problem as polarization (two coding strategies). Some rows are coded as for_profit while others say For Profit. Should I also add the line clarifying that there are these two strategies?

If you agree on adding these notes in the meantime, I can do it on Monday afternoon and we can link these codebooks to the Research tab.

@vhurtadol thanks so much for this! we will get the codebooks on to the research page, and Pan will work on cleaning up the issues you identified in the next few weeks.
