Request to add PDF Parser as an option #65

It would be cool if this tool could work with a wide range of inputs, if you could give it a pdf, or a website, or a txt, etc |
Adding my vote for this! That'd be an absolutely excellent feature. This is such an awesome tool and is single handedly getting me through my masters degree right now. |
Hi, that is really good idea, and I was thinking about it myself, the problem is that PDF is not structured as EPUB and it might be way more difficult to extract chapters from it. If you have some books in PDF format, I would love to see them first, before promising implementation of this feature... but overall I do like it, we definitely should expand and support more text formats to speech |
I can probably provide some, not sure which actual EBook files are PDFs, I'll have to have a look this weekend. I was actually more interested in this for things like journal articles and press releases though. Not actually looking to build a proper Audiobook from an EBook, more looking to create an audiobook-quality file from non-audiobook source material. Use case - at least for me - is completing required readings for course work during my commute and the like. Plus, I just much prefer audible information than visual information. |
I see, ok, could you provide some variants of PDF with different content (journal content, some documentation etc) and I will have a look how to unify the process for all of them |
Along with Epub can we also have an option to convert PDFs to audiobook.
Thanks
