Join a project!

Since we're working in public, there's a benefit to actively share what we're interested in and what our current concerns are. The projects and their boards are suited for this!

Join any projects where you'd like to contribute

1. While we're figuring out how to work and coordinate, please consider joining the Governance and Policy forum, where we are putting together necessary group rules and charters. These should be rules we all can stand behind, so your constructive feedback and thoughts are especially important.
2. We're still looking for contributors, so if you're alone in a project, don't worry! Reach out to others, and find out how they can help. Security is a topic everyone using CPAN and Perl should care about.
3. Each project has a board with tasks. If you care enough to join a project, please spend some time keeping this board up-to-date! What tasks are important? Which need to be added or clarified?

Pick a task

Take a look at the priorities of the tasks in each project board. Higher up means more important, and drag/drop then so it makes sense to you. If you see others prioritize radically different, then reach out and figure out what your reasons are, and what a good compromise looks like.

Make a ticket

By default, new tasks are Drafts. If the ticket shouldn't be a draft any more, assign the ticket to the most relevant repository available (or possibly create a new one).

It's good to have tickets, but remember to take care of the boards in the usual ways (remove dupes, etc.) Tasks may be "necessary" or "good idea" or "better remember this" or whatever you think is needed. If a task is relevant, put it in the board so we get an idea of what we're up against, and what's useful to do when we have the tuits to hack on something. :)

Purpose

What is this for? Mainly it is for keeping track of what's in-scope for us, and secondarily so that we can use the information when fundraising. If we have no tasks, then we are telling the world that we have nothing to do, and hence no reason to look for funding, volunteers or others to help us.
