Homing no longer works; homes, raises up, continues to crash into printer. #9

that is wierd. the endstop seems to be working otherwise it would not power
off or lift. but that behaviour on the second run should not happen.
when did this start?
what is your firmware version?
what was nova 3d support reply?

… This isn't an issue with the repo, so I apologize if this the wrong place
to post this.
I have loved my elfin, and seemingly cannot find it anywhere -
specifically the model that does not require leveling the bed.
Recently, the bed will level - raise ~10 mm, then continue to lower down
without stopping.
I have swapped the photo coupler with another, and I still get the same
issue.
Is there a way I can plug into the machine while it's running and see why
it's not registering the second stop? The light even turns off, suggesting
that it does see the bar. Thank you for your in depth tear down and
understanding of the printer, it has been my favorite for years!
Don't mind the twist tie, I wanted to give it some space before it crashed
into itself. Any inside or help would be greatly appreciated!
BTW, contacted Nova3d Support via email, Facebook, and Twitter and got 1
response...

It started about a year ago, and I just gave up figuring out what the issue
was. As far as I know, I was on the latest firmware; checking both on the
printer through the UI and their website, but I was unable to find any
firmware files as their website is absolute garbage. I have torn it down
and looking at the board I can't seen any issue/burnt
traces/caps/resistors, etc. I have unfortunately just gone ahead and
ordered a seemingly working board from Germany. With the hopes that will
work.
Here is there response in its entirety:
hi
Can you post the video to me ?thanks
To which I did, with videos linked in imgur and facebook:

If it's straight forward, I do have arduinos and some software skills to
try and pull any data off the board (which I know runs a version of
Android).
Thank you for your reply, I deeply loved this machine and really hope to
get it back up and running,

Recently my printer had a similar issue and the headstock (on the z rail).
Came apart inside. Was a big ordeal to reassmmmble but it was just
threaded bits that rattled loose that prevented machine from being properly
zeroed

I haven't touched on my elfins for a long time. mostly what i remember is on the photo album The board comes with a live accessible serial port with what looks like a standard groove connector that outputs diagnostic information about the board health baud rate 115200, and accepts gcode via terminal and accepts Gcode commands |
