Date Created field not sorting consistently

In one tenant, works were edited to have the date-created field set in yyyy-mm-dd format. In some areas, the fields are sorting correctly, but in others (such as the collection display page here https://goshen.hykucommons.org/collections/c0c98979-9b5a-41b4-95bb-606af556e30e?utf8=%E2%9C%93&sort=date_ssi+desc&per_page=10&locale=en) sorting by date created has no effect.

We believe this may be resolved by work on #800. Can you recheck it on staging?
