INSTALL

To install the MetaBrainz server:

1. Create a `metabrainz` user on your machine. The rest of the steps will assume
   you are this user, and you are in the user's home directory. You can do this
   with `sudo -u metabrainz -i`. As this user:

   1. First checkout metabrainz-server with
      `git clone git://git.musicbrainz.org/metabrainz-server.git`

   2. Also, you'll need to checkout musicbrainz-server with
      `git clone git://git.musicbrainz.org/musicbrainz-server.git`

   3. Create a symlink to musicbrainz-server from metabrainz-server:

          cd ~/metabrainz-server
          ln -s ~/musicbrainz-server musicbrainz-server

   4. Install dependencies:

          cd ~/metabrainz-server
          carton install --deployment

   5. You should now be able to start the development server:

          cd ~/metabrainz-server
          carton exec -Imusicbrainz-server/lib -Ilib -- plackup -r
