input.conf - how to escape ${path} for shell commands

I'm using this line in input.conf I found somewhere online, to allow me to press Del to move the currently playing file into a subfolder, and jump to the next file:

del playlist-remove current ; run "/bin/sh" "-c" "mkdir -p ./.mpv-trash" ; run "/bin/sh" "-c" "mv -- '${path}' ./.mpv-trash" ; show-text "moved ${path} to trash"

It works fine, except when I try to delete a file that contains a ' character. Then I get all sorts of errors because the filename isn't escaped.

How can I escape the ${path} property so that it is suitable for passing to shell commands?

This doesn't need a shell. Just bind run mkdir -p .mpv-trash; run mv -- ${path} .mpv-thrash/
