Do these USB wifi adapters also works with Android? (Specifically Android TV boxes / Chromecast)

Hi,

I have a Chromecast (with Android 12 IIRC) and want to buy a USB wifi adapter to boost its wireless speed (can't do ethernet due to home layout). Can't really find any discussion about this on the internet though.

Has anyone ever used a USB wifi adapter with your Android TV box / Chromecast? If it works, which model are you using?

I could help with ChromeOS but that would likely be worthless given that Google is killing it.

Are you compiling your own Android? If so, you just need to compile in the driver and put the firmware where Android wants it.

Well I just bought a EDUP EP-AX1672 and tested it. The Chromecast doesn't recognize it. It was worth a try, I guess.

Try something that has been in the kernel way longer.
it is not surprising a wifi6 adapter doesn't work.
Android in those boxes is probably an old kernel.
