Describe the bug
Using a Linux host and Linux client, HDR is extremely over-saturated on the client device. It does not happen when using a Windows host and Linux client with all things equal outside of the OS.

Steps to reproduce
Start streaming from EndeavourOS Sunshine server to EndeavourOS Moonlight client or to Steamdeck client.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem. If the issue is related to video glitching or poor quality, please include screenshots.

Affected games
It affects every game and the entire desktop environment.

Other Moonlight clients
The issues occurs on a Samsung S21. I will test on an Nvidia Shield later today.

Moonlight settings (please complete the following information)
The things I have changed work well with the host as windows.
Changed settings:

  • Resolution, FPS, Bitrate
  • Displaymode is Fullscreen
  • Vsync and frame pacing both enabled/disabled
  • Enabled capturing shortcuts in fullscreen
  • Selected HEVC or AV1
  • Enabled HDR

Gamepad-related issues (please complete if problem is gamepad-related)
N/A

Client PC details (please complete the following information)

  • EndeavourOS and SteamOS on deck OLED
  • Moonlight Version: 6.1.0
  • GPU: Intel Iris 655, the Steamdeck APU, and RTX-3050
  • Linux package type (if applicable): Tried both Flatpak and Appimage along with multiple types of Sunshine

Server PC details (please complete the following information)

  • OS: EndeavourOS fully updated. Not sure of actual verison, but its been happening on KDE Plasma 6 for as far back as I can remember across many versions.
  • Sunshine or GeForce Experience version: 21.1 and many different nightly builds
  • GPU: 7700xt, 7900xtx, and 4070ti Super
  • GPU driver: Every stable AMD/Nvidia driver for the last 6 months

Moonlight Logs (please attach)

  • On Windows, Moonlight-###.log files can be found in %TEMP%. Simply type that into the File Explorer path field to navigate there.
  • On macOS, Moonlight-###.log files can be found in /tmp. In Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G, then type /tmp to navigate there.
  • On Linux with the Flatpak, logs print to the terminal when running with the command: flatpak run com.moonlight_stream.Moonlight
  • On Linux with the Snap, logs print to the terminal when running with the command: moonlight

I will add logs when I am back home and can access the machine they reside on.

Additional context
HDR appears to be working correctly when using the host machine locally to an actual monitor. I have tried using HDMI dummy plugs with various things written to it as well as the actual monitor. Both things are streamed with the over-saturated and dark colors. I have seen a few other posts on here about this issue, but they do not seem to be caused by whatever my issue is.

Also worth noting, I have tried a Displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter with the dummy plug that is known to work well with AMD GPUs at 4k120hz, but the issue also occurs when using normal Displayport 1.4 straight to my monitor.
