Even with NEK there is simply not enough utilization of modifier keybinds, too many keys overlapping, and for 1.7 it has been a mess to deal with at best and a disaster most of the time. Being able to assign one or two keys to switching through profiles could mitigate this issue greatly.
Common keys for things such as movement could be shared across profiles, with then specific key-binds per profile. For instance [Airship] where keys have been assigned for ArchimedesShips movement, mounting, dismounting, and docking, [IC2] where keys are now assigned for tool modes, [EMC] Where the same keys can now be used for changing EE3/ProjectE tool modes, ranges.
Optionally provide an API so that mod authors can allow setting a profile to be automatically activated or deactivated when equipping a specific tool or performing a specific action.
