✨ Allow some alpha user arns to assume a role in EM accounts

Describe the feature request.

We need to temporarily (and quickly) give access to a few analysts to see our preprod feeds so they can assess how the service now feeds look and can feed back to suppliers. After speaking to mod platform its not trivial to give them access to our tables with one of their roles, so looking to create a role in mod platform and allow their arns to assume that role. Linked to our issue.

Describe the context.

From some new EARs/SARs work:

The suppliers of Electronic Monitoring services are changing. The implementation of the new contracts has identified several requirements that need to be met by the Authority. These include responding to queries from agencies within the criminal justice system about the locations of offenders and generating trail maps from location data. This requirement needs to be in place by the end of February. The Lead Data Scientist for GPS data, Chris Wheatly, needs access to the location monitoring data on the Modernisation Platform immediately in order to collaborate with the data engineering team on fulfilling this requirements. He is SC cleared.

For the P&S analysts:

While we haven't yet integrated with the AP's lake formation solution. We have an urgent need to allow analysts in the Performance and Stats team (working with us and EY on data quality checks) to be able to see our preproduction tables. This is so that they can utilise their business knowledge to ensure our preproduction feed from our data suppliers is of the correct standard, and we can flag any issues to them.

The proposed solution is to allow their alpha user roles to (temporarily) assume a role in our account(s) that allows them to see certain tables and databases. This requires some work from your side to allow them to assume roles from our accounts.

Value / Purpose

Ensure we meet the mapping requirements before the end of Feb 25.

Ensure that the contracted companies' data is valid and we can sort any issues before the migration date.

Discussed this request at the feature request forum on 10/02/25. Two possible options for implementation identified but these need to be explored further. Will regroup next week to discuss findings and agree implementation option.
