Ctrl-D not working inside python debugger

I am wondering why Ctrl-D cannot be used to stop python debugger, even if it does not appear to be assigned to anything else.

It is quite confusing to read Use exit() or Ctrl-D (i.e. EOF) to exit and not to be able to press it, while the same works fine when just running the debugger outside vscode.

PS. I am on MacOS.

Is that message occurring specifically in the debug console? Or is this in the terminal? Or does an editor buffer have focus? I.e. where are you getting the message from Python about Ctrl-D while debugging in VS Code?

It was while inside the debug console, not the editor buffer but I after I edited the shortcuts, I was able to record a Ctrl-D for workbench.action.debug.stop while `seems to be working while not being quite obvious that the debugging session was stopped.

I will double check which debugger I was using pdb, ipdb or pdbr, but if I remember well all of them support Ctrl-D as standard, not being an user configurable option.
