Create a short video from 60-90 seconds that shows either why you volunteer with the MRC, how your MRC is making your community healthier, or how your MRC is making your community more prepared and resilient. Once your video is completed, upload it to YouTube and provide us the link on the "Submit Solutions" form, along with a transcript of the video. Please note your video should include close-captioning (see "Rules"). Your entry can be submitted as part of a team, or by you as an individual. If you are submitting as a team, you should create a team name and <strong>submit one</strong> entry for the team with this name. All submissions must be submitted through this Web site. Please follow the steps below: <ul> <li>Read and agree to the Rules (see "Rules")</li> <li>Sign-up for a free account on challenge.gov. Only a username and valid email address are required.</li> <li>Click on the "Submit Solutions" tab on the left-side menu bar of this challenge competition to submit your entry.</li> <li>If under the age of 18, the contestant must have their adult parent or legal guardian complete the <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/challenge-gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/parental-consent-form.pdf">Parental/Guardian Consent Form</a>. <strong>This</strong> <strong>form must be uploaded with your entry.</strong></li> </ul> On the "Submit Solutions" form, include the following: <ul> <li>Video URL</li> <li>MRC Unit Name (include City and State)</li> <li>Name and email address of submitter</li> <li>Transcript (for closed-captioning)</li> <li>Signed Parental Consent Form (if applicable)</li> <li>Please be sure to check "<strong>Hide the contents of my submission from all others on Challenge.gov</strong>"</li> <li>Check the box "I accept the challenge terms and conditions"</li> </ul> Only complete submissions, which follow application instructions, will be reviewed and eligible to win.

There will be one winner selected for each question for a total of up to three winners. Winners will be invited to attend the 2017 Preparedness Summit where they will be recognized by MRC Program leadership and have their travel, lodging, and expenses covered. For team submissions, an invitation will be extended to one representative.

Only complete entries that follow application instructions will be reviewed. ASPR reserves the right to disqualify participants in instances where misconduct is identified. We expect participants will treat each other and their communities with respect. We will not accept submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks, or offensive terms that target individuals or groups. We will not accept submissions that promote companies, services, or products. Submissions that make unsupported claims will not be accepted. Other rules include: <ul> <li>Contestants must submit their video by September 11, 2016, at 11:00 p.m. EDT.</li> <li>All videos must be submitted through this official Challenge Web site.</li> <li>A video must be 60-90 seconds and must answer only 1 of these 3 questions: Why I/we volunteer with the MRC; How does the MRC make my community healthier; How does the MRC make my community more prepared and resilient.</li> <li>The video should be an MPEG-4 video file with an aspect ratio of 16 x 9.</li> <li>The trademarked MRC logo or the words Medical Reserve Corps or MRC should be clearly visible and accurately displayed in the video, view the <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/challenge-gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/MRC-IdentityGuide_Sep2015.pdf">MRC Identity Guide</a> for guidance on correct logo use.</li> <li>Contestants may submit their entry as an individual or as part of a group.</li> <li>Submissions by groups should be submitted only once by one member of the group (one prize will be awarded for each winning entry).</li> <li>Contestants must upload their video to <a href="http://www.youtube.com">YouTube</a> and add the link to their video on the “Submit Solutions” form, along with a description and transcript of the video. (Helpful link and information: YouTube: <a href="https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?hl=en&amp;amp;rd=1.o">How to upload</a>.)</li> <li>Each video must contain closed captioning. No copyrighted images, footage, or music.</li> <li>Do not include any personal identifiable information in the video such as badges.</li> <li>If under 18, a contestant must have their adult parent or legal guardian complete the <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/challenge-gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/parental-consent-form.pdf">Parental/Guardian Consent Form</a>. This form must be submitted with your entry.</li> <li>Contestants must have the necessary documented permissions for individuals heard and/or seen on the submitted video. Please have individuals who are identifiable in the video to complete a <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/challenge-gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Waiver-for-MRC-Serves-Video-Challenge.pdf">Consent and Release Form</a>.</li> <li>The documented permission of the adult parent or guardian of each person under the age of 18 seen or heard in the video is also required to complete the <a href="https://s3.amazonaws.com/challenge-gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Waiver-for-MRC-Serves-Video-Challenge.pdf">Consent and Release Form</a>.</li> <li>Any individual contestant or group entry with a member on the <a href="https://www.sam.gov/sam/transcript/Public_-_Identifying_Excluded_Entities.pdf">Excluded Parties List</a> will not be eligible for prizes.</li> <li>The video must be an original creation. Contestants must not infringe upon any copyright or any other rights of any third party.</li> <li>By submitting a video to this contest, contestants grant a royalty-free license to ASPR to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly and otherwise use, and authorize others to use, your video for any educational purpose throughout the world and in any media.</li> <li>By submitting a video to this contest, contestants agree that the MRC and ASPR may make your video available to the public from their Web sites (https://mrc.hhs.gov and http://www.phe.gov) and to distribute it to organizations interested in showing it for educational purposes. Winners will be invited to attend the 2017 Preparedness Summit where they will be recognized by Medical Reserve Corps Program leadership and have their travel, lodging, and expenses covered. For group submissions that win, one representative from the group will be invited and be eligible to receive travel, lodging, and costs to attend. Winning videos will also be recognized on the MRC Program’s web site and social media and may also be highlighted on ASPR's web site and social media.

We invite MRC volunteers to enter the "MRC Serves!" Video Challenge. MRC volunteers can create and submit a short 60 to 90 second video that answers one of the following three questions. <ol> <li>Why do I/we volunteer with the MRC?</li> <li>How does the MRC make my community healthier?</li> <li>How does the MRC make my community more prepared and resilient?</li> </ol> Be creative when answering these questions. Submit a video as an individual or as a team. The video can include visuals such as footage or pictures (see the Rules section for restrictions) of an MRC activity or event you participated in.  We encourage you to wear MRC gear such as shirts and hats! Your video could encourage others to volunteer with the MRC.
