When using search engines like Google you can observe two different search term recommendation systems. At first it tries to suggest queries which are frequently used. If it runs out of recommendations for complete queries (multiple words), it will switch to suggesting only single words to append.

Example:

  1. Go to http://www.google.com
  2. Enter "winterreifen t" - Google will suggest "winterreifen test" alongside with other similiar searches
  3. Enter "winterreifen test kartof" - Google will now try to suggest how to complete the term "kartof"

…mal sketch of the suggestion rest endpoint. This will help to build an easy compose file as in #21 and in implementing the suggestions as in #7
