While useful for debugging, I don't think things such as having the entire websocket readme in the webpacked source sent to the client is intentional. As well as adding a large amount of bloat to the build, it can also expose information about the machine performing the build / CI server (if you're using one).
The manifests can be found in app.js under webpack codes such as +YNr and eajV (to give two examples).
