I just noticed today there wasn't an Issues section on this project (there isn't one by default) so I've made one in case anyone wants to make contact. Just know that I'm not planning to maintain this code (I've had friction with both the GLUI and freeglut maintainers, so it seems like a dead end) but that I developed it as a stepping stone to an alternative to GLUI and the current locus of that project is at https://github.com/mick-p1982/mm3d (sourceforge.net/p/widgets-95)
This project is not to provide the toy features of GLUT (although I don't mind adding a few more of its graphics primitives) but to provide an upgrade from GLUT that is able to make a fully functioning application. You just have to do your own graphics routines. Most aren't dependent on GLUT's ability to display spheres and donuts as much as its refreshingly simple approach to cross-platform UI.
As a single developer I am not well positioned to maintain Linux style packages, so unless you can help on that front be prepared to work with looser code that is going to be continuously under development in the years to come. That can be a plus or minus depending on how see it.
