Bulk content editing options on content overview don't work #45
Comments
You'll need moderated content bulk publish. |
I'm not sure if there's a nice way to deal with this problem. If a workflow is enabled for a content type then you won't be able to publish/unpublish it using Views Bulk Operations. If all content is in a workflow then these options are superfluous, but if only some content is in a workflow then it will work for some and not for others. The Moderated Content Bulk Publish module adds options that work on content in a workflow, but give errors is it isn't. The issue here being the main content admin view doesn't make it clear what options will work on which content. I'm open to suggestions on how to modify this view and the action list, but it seems to me there are UX issues with the core workflow setup. |
Hmm, probably just my own ignorance here that I didn't know it was possible to enable for some content types and not others. Is that something that councils commonly do? |
We automatically add all the LGD content types to our workflow when the Workflow module is enabled, but this can be changed at /admin/config/workflow/workflows/manage/localgov_editorial. As this can be changed on a site basis I'm wary about automatically showing or hiding actions for all sites, but if it most sites are going with the default then we could hide the publish/unpublish options when the Workflow module is enabled. Would be good to get some feedback from others on this. |

At Essex, we've removed a lot of the options from the dropdown menu, including these, and other things like "Make sticky at top of lists".
