When running 50fps PAL exclusive games like WRC 4 or CMC Rally 2005, the frame rate is inconsistent and uneven. It jitters randomly.
With the old PS2 core these games were running smoothly in this monitor. I'm using the same settings to replicate the same behavior but either way, no matter what combination of settings i use within or outside RetroArch makes no difference.
The games are still playable and because they are 50fps (not 25) they may still appear "smooth enough" to many users even when they lose frames here and there. This issue is a bit more subtle compared to actual frame rate drops because of performance. But the issue here is not performance related (i use an i5 12400 / RTX 3060) it's just an issue of bad syncing. Which wasn't a case with the previous PS2 core. And yes, these games are perfectly smooth on real hardware.
I tried all plugin options along with Parallel and software rendering, Vulkan, vsync ON/OFF with Nvidia only, turning off Gsync support from the drivers, playing with all the latency options from RetroArch, etc. The behavior is always the exact same. There is no way to play these PAL games smoothly on the new PS2 core currently.
