RetroArch: 1.19.1
Core: mGBA (0.11-dev 747362c)
OS: Windows 11 x64
CPU: Intel i9 14900H
GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 Laptop

When testing SGB Mode for Pokemon Brown v6.1.2 (a hack of Pokemon Red), which has SGB enhancements, the game starts up fine, but when any button is pressed, it becomes a permanent black screen and the border reverts to the mGBA default. Running it in GBC mode works with no SGB border and no black screening, but the colors are wrong.

GBC Mode - this works but colors are wrong:

SGB Mode - colors are correct + includes border. however, on button press, permanent black screen and border reverts (audio continues to play as normal, button presses register):

Testing with "Aladin (USA) (SGB Enhanced).gb" using SGB Mode, the game does not black screen, but SGB Borders default to mGBA outline after pressing a button on the controller. Other SGB Enhanced games w/ border have a similar issue.

Standalone EXE mGBA does not seem to have these issues occur. I am unable to replicate these issues there. This only seems to be occuring with the RetroArch core edition.

Upgraded to RetroArch 1.20.0 and using latest core commit 72b5a9d.

Game Boy Color mode and/or Super Game Boy Color mode now displays as if it is in Game Boy mode for Pokemon Brown.

Super Game Boy mode + Borders issue is still occuring as above.
