Co-installation with pi-hole or Home Assistant #389

Hello, Thank you for your interest. First of all, I have to say that I cannot cover all configurations within my installation script. If Pi-hole v6 is used, it is not necessary for Pi-hole and Pi.Alert to be installed on the same hardware, as an API is used for Pi-hole 6. However, it is not yet possible to read the DHCP leases via the API. |

Thank you for your fast response! I am indeed running Pi-hole V5. (I didn't know there was a V6... Will have to look into that...) I could try installing it on the other server and manually tweaking the web parameters - I'm comfortable with that - but what I think I'll do for now is the simpler "For Dummies" approach and install it on the Pi-Hole server, for testing purposes, and maybe upgrade both when support for V6 matures. I've even toyed with the idea of installing both on the Home Assistant server, but I don't want to mess up my Home Assistant installation. More study is in order for that. Again, thanks very much for your help, and your great work on this app! Cheers, |

Hello!
I have Pi-hole running on an older Raspberry Pi (Pi 1, Model B, Rev. 2, 512MB), and it works well in my home network.
My Pi-hole is also my DHCP server.
I also have "Home Assistant" (HA) running on a Raspberry Pi 4, 4G RAM.
My question is: Can I install Pi.Alert on my RBPi4 alongside of HA, and still link it functionally with Pi-hole's DHCP and DNS activities, or must I install it on the same server as Pi-Hole?
Thank you!
Cheers,
-Paul
