progress events should include more than the pod events

Additional events should include:

• requesting the pod in the first place
• deleting prior pod
• creating pvc

etc.

This suggests that rather than directly reflecting the pod events, there should be a higher-level event list that we populate directly, and pod events (and pvc events) should be merged into it.
