Plugin changes and updates

Hi, first we are very excited that you have been doing such great work on the kaltura plugin.
I wanted to point you to this version that we had condiminds extend for us

And we would love to see those features updated in to this version since I think this should be the single ELGG Kaltura plugin.

Not sure if any one from Condiminds has contacted you, we had asked them to.

Our version has video search on the embed popup, video names displayed under the videos, auto naming of elgg video entries after upload, popout code for videos that links to the video (this was to get around both the flash dual screen limitation and also get past a bug where mix videos wouldn't play in the ELGG site. Also added was a simple video upload option in the tool settings to direct upload video with out creating mixes, to speed up content ingestion in to kaltura but there was a bug in the api at the time so that feature is not useable for videos that are very big.

Wanted to make you aware of it and we are excited to see this getting some much needed updating to the core code.

Thank you for the suggestions. If I remember correctly I once downloaded the extended version and looked a bit into it's source code. I suppose at least some of these functionalities could be included to the main kaltura_video plugin.

I'm rewriting most of the original kaltura_video plugin's source code so It'll take some time before I have time to look into implementing upgrades like these. I'll however keep them in mind when working on the plugin's main functionalities.

the latest updates to the ajax-recreateobjects.php stop it from working compared to the original. when we try to run it errors only looking for the admin user instead of rebuilding each users videos.

@RiggingDojoAdmin I haven't really given much attention to the kaltura_plugin lately. There hasn't been any demand for it in any of my own projects.

I would like to rewrite the plugin completely instead of fixing bugs. This way it would be easier to get rid of all the bad and broken legacy code (like the one you mentioned).

Understood about the lack of demand. We would really love to see this updated and working correctly. There is one other one that works well https://github.com/THINKGlobalSchool/Simplekaltura but with no way to have the site auto rebuild the videos from an existing install we can't use it, it is also lacking integrated embed with text areas and the previuos updates we paid for for this one (auto name elgg title and search embed view). We have tried to use the latest version your plugin but the switch you made to a new video player has never worked for us unless I am just missing something. Maybe I need to reprocess all our videos on the kaltura end, or our videos are to big? The simplekaltura uses the html5 kaltura video player code it looks like and works fine. We are stuck in limbo between two plugins that neither one do what we need, sigh.
