Doesn't accept shapefile format

The output says the stream network shapefile is not in a supported format, even though the GUI recommends a shapefile. Also this output window closes are like 3 seconds and doesn't display as a text file in the scratch folder. My stream network is single part and has adequate density of vertices.

I had similar issue the first time I tried to use this tool. For me it was that I need to select .shp file type from the browse to file window.
