terminal-plus doesn't seem to be maintained any longer, and doesn't work with the latest version of Atom. I maintain a working fork if you'd like to try that instead:
apm install termination

Another fine alternative is platformio-atom-ide-terminal.

We also experienced the same problem. It seems it is no longer maintained. We suggest* you to use this package: termination.
