The current choice of some of the keyboard bindings for performing splits, particularly alt-space, is a key combo that some window managers interfere with. It'd be nice to have either an alternate keyboard shortcut or a UI button to perform full-range splits.

One workaround for alt-space in the current version is using alt-shift-space instead.
