Short Notice from the maintainer

After 6 years of more or less intensive programming on Calibre-Web, I need a break.
The last few months, maintaining Calibre-Web has felt more like work than a hobby. I felt pressured and teased by people to solve "their" problems and merge PRs for "their" Calibre-Web.
I have turned off all notifications from Github/Discord and will now concentrate undisturbed on the development of “my” Calibre-Web over the next few weeks/months.
I will look into the issues and maybe also the PRs from time to time, but don't expect a quick response from me.

Please have a look at our Contributing Guidelines

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I would like to send a book from calibre-web to KOreader over an Internet connection. Similar to the functionality that calibre offers over USB or local lan.

Describe the solution you'd like
A button next to "Download" and "read in browser" that allows to "send to KOreader".

Describe alternatives you've considered
I can browse and download books on the device with the OPDS catalogue. However, navigating a large library on the device is much more inconvenient than on a PC or tablet. Therefore it would be nice to mark a book as "send to KOreader" similar to the Calibre functionality in LAN.

Additional context
The current KOreader plugin requires a LAN IP address. Therefore an additional change is required on the plugin to query instead a http URI do download the books that are marked for "send to KOreader". Once the functionality is available in calibre-web, I could modify the plugin accordingly.

Take care that you don't run into a burnout!

Working on Open Source projects is always a fine hobby, but when you created something very nice like calibre-web users popup with all kinds of problems an requests. Your hobby can lead to many, many extra hours of work besides a normal paid job.

The challenge is to find the right balance. It is impossible to satisfy all needs of others.

You took the right decision!! Take care and thanks for volunteering so much dedicated hours.
Regards!!
