The ubuntu-18.04 runner image is deprecated and will be unavailable for use from 1 December 2022 1 April 2023. This will cause the CI builds to fail when this change happens.
Describe the solution you'd like
The ci.yaml GitHub Actions workflow should replace the ubuntu-18.04 runner image to a more recent version (either ubuntu-20.04 or ubuntu-22.04). If the step does not depend on the Ubuntu version, it is recommended to use ubuntu-latest instead, so that the runner images can be automatically updated.
