To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. set key value in redis-cli, ex: set k1 abc
2. In aspnet core controller action:
   var k1 = await _redis.GetDb(0).GetAsync("k1");
3. reproduce the bug

I also had this issue - however, I'm populating redis via a nodejs redis library. Make sure whatever is writing them to redis is enclosing the values with quotes / it's valid json

e.g. in your case: set k1 "abc"
