Recently, shadows of selection anchors and the controllers have appeared in the VR view when using iDaVIE in the Editor.
This seems to be originating from the camera attached to the VR camera used for rendering to the desktop GUI VRMap texture.
Old versions of iDaVIE from a couple years ago seem to have the same problem, so this might be showing up in newer versions of Unity. Playing with the Culling Mask of this second camera seems to get rid of the shadows. I have a feeling this has something to do with depth textures.
