The frightful demon is a Level 3 creature, but it is somewhat weak. It has a tendency to run away from battles, like the aswang bird.
However, when it is in the presence of allies, it gains confidence - maybe +1 attack and +1 damage per level (or body score, or something) of each ally in the room. I wonder how it could get more allies... perhaps it can persuade allies to retreat with it?
The power of the frightful demon gives you wings and a bonus to retreating, as well as a bonus from allies - pretty much the same as it has, perhaps based on your mind score or maybe your body score. You can also retreat or run as a reaction - your attacker and everyone still get a chance to hit you, but you get a bonus equivalent to dodging.
I'd like to add the capability for the player to take a parting shot at retreaters or runners. I imagine this could be done by saying "The aswang is retreating/running past you!" and then you get a turn before she is finally gone. I guess we might have to create a new combat state for this - something like at-react because you can't go anywhere, but you can attack. I'm sure I could work it into the parting shots system somehow, after we finish Kerkerkruip 10...
