Access to additional NHM BA variables

Hi there,

I'm back again with other variable questions. The datasets in the 'nhm-v1.1-c404-bc-catalog', available currently on hovenweep, provide the variable 'hru_actet', but do not provide any of the component / secondary variables composing this bulk variable. Those secondary variables are:

• intcp_evap | Evapotranspiration from canopy surfaces for each HRU, inches
• hru_impervevap | Evapotranspiration from impervious surfaces for each HRU, inches
• dprst_evap_hru | Evapotranspiration from surface-depression strorage for each HRU, inches
• perv_actet | Actual ET from the capillary reservoir of each HRU, inches
• snow_evap | Evaporation and Sublimation from snowpack on each HRU, inches

Is there any way to get ahold of these secondary variables? Or is it similar to the other datasets, where an archive lives on Black Pearl but can't be readily accessed?

This is for a project where we want to assess the partitioning of evaporation and transpiration in models using water isotope approaches. The 'perv_acetet' variable is effectively the transpiration component, so would be necessary for this goal.

@pnorton-usgs do you have any insights here? I'm not familiar with the NHM outputs.

@putmanannie - While these variables are not part of the current NHM release runs I can re-run the model and include additional variables. It could take a few weeks for me to do this. Are you needing these variables for a particular calibration level (e.g. byHRU, byHW, byHWobs for the CONUS404-bc forced model?

@pnorton-usgs That would be awesome. To double check, the byHWobs calibration is the result of the full calibration, right (per fig below)? If so, we would like that one. Another question: would it be easier to run a subset of years?

@aputman-usgs - I have re-run the NHM CONUS production runs and added the variables you requested (hru_impervevap, hru_intcpevap, dprst_evap_hru, hru_perv_actet, snow_evap). Let me know if you run into any problems.
