As a member of the organisation or the board, I would like to know the current number and the history of member count and keyholder count. This public view could show only a subset of the whole data, which holds other information too. As a member of the board, I would like to download the data as a CSV file or some similar format. Automatically record the current statistics on the last day of the month.

Suggested data characteristics for monthly logging:

  • timestamp
  • frequency of member types
  • frequency of member token types
  • frequency of nonmember token types
  • sum of incomes in categories such as member fee and keyholder fee
  • frequency of keyholder payment amounts
  • frequency of member home city
  • frequency of access grants per type

This is definitely best handled by external stats and graphing component/service/whatnot, that is regularly fed snapshots of the current asylum state.

Prioritize preserving historical data. Maybe store the snapshots in the external stats and have extra copy of monthly numbers sent by email to the board, just in case?

Me and @kengu2 are interested in creating something like this.

That is basically accounting data, which is more readily available elsewhere unless we want to turn Asylum into accounting system.
