Segmentation "notSelectedAlpha" issue

I have a segmentation precomputed where I want to highlight particular segments based on user query. To do this I am tying to lower the alpha of non-selected regions. When I load the link, all regions are the same alpha despite the slider showing the non selected regions should have a lower value

The JSON shows the the "notSelectedAlpha" value to be lower than 1.0 and if I modify it there everything in the UI begins to work correctly.

Any ideas on why it does not work correctly on the original load?
