* Dockerfile for gstudio

  Please use https://github.com/gnowledge/gstudio-docker/ for a quick & best method to
  get a running instance of gstudio with code as well as all the dependencies satisfied.


* Manual INSTALLATION Procedure for gstudio

  If you are on a debian or Ubuntu PC install the following packages.
  Use corresponding package names if you are using an RPM based distro
  (fedora or centos).

  [1] Installing required following packages and its dependencies:

      > sudo apt-get install python-setuptools git build-essential python-dev rcs mongodb python-virtualenv ipython libjpeg-dev memcached libevent-dev libfreetype6-dev zlib1g-dev ffmpeg2theora rabbitmq-server libssl-dev libffi-dev libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev apt-transport-https

  [2] Get latest version of gstudio using one of the following commands:

      (1) git clone https://github.com/gnowledge/gstudio.git
      (2) git clone git@github.com:gnowledge/gstudio.git

  [3] Use following commands to install ffmpeg package:

      (1) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
      (2) sudo apt-get update
      (3) sudo apt-get install ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

  [4] Set up virtual environment for gstudio:

      (1) cd gstudio
      (2) virtualenv --system-site-packages .      # NOTE: Here '.' indicates current directory
      (3) source bin/activate                      # Activates virtual environment
      (4) ./bin/pip install -r requirements.txt    # NOTE: Here '.' indicates current directory

  [5] SMTP configuration for notifications:

      To make SMTP server ready for sending mail (development purpose only), you can use
      either of the following methods:

      (1) After running project, run following command:
          > python -m smtpd -n -c DebuggingServer localhost:1025
            # This will ready system to listen smtp messages and will print in terminal

      (2) To use gmail smtp server (If you have another smarthost to
          deliver use that instead):

          (a) Go to settings.py file and search for "#SMTP setting for
              sending mail" and uncomment gmail smtp setting and comment
              default python smtp settings.

          (b) Edit following with your gmail credentials and save
              settings.py file:-
              EMAIL_HOST_USER = 'yourcompleteemailid'
              EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = 'yourpassword'

  [6] Install JS/CSS dependencies using Bower:

      (1) Activate your virtual environment:
          > source bin/activate

      (2) A tool to create isolated node.js environment which is integrated
          with environment built by python virtualenv:
          > sudo apt-get install curl
          > pip install nodeenv

      (3) Appending nodeenv settings to virtualenv: (This takes time.. wait
          till it completes)
          > nodeenv --python-virtualenv

          If above step gives an error, install NodeJS at root level with
          following commands:
          * For stable nodejs version in ubuntu: 0.10.* 
              (a) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chris-lea/node.js
              (b) sudo apt-get update
              (c) sudo apt-get install python-software-properties python g++ make nodejs
          * For latest nodejs version:
              (a) apt-get install npm
              (b) sudo npm cache clean
              (c) sudo npm install -g n
              (d) sudo n latest
              (e) ln -sf /usr/local/n/versions/node/<version no from above step>/bin/node /usr/bin/node

      (4) Installing Bower:
          > sudo npm install -g bower

      (5) To install JS/CSS dependencies:
          > cd gstudio/gnowsys-ndf  # Navigate to project-root
          > bower install           # Install depenedencies

  [7] Install Search Dependencies:
      (1) Run following command:
      > pip install -U pyyaml nltk

      (2) Activate the environment:
      > source bin/activate

      (3) Go to project-root:
      > cd gstudio/gnowsys-ndf  # directory containing manage.py

      (4) Run ipython [or python] shell

          In ipython [or python] shell run the following commands:-
          >>> import nltk
          >>> nltk.download()

          CASE 1: GUI OPENS
          -- Go to the 'Corpora' tab
          -- Download the module with identifier - "stopwords"
          -- Download the module with identifier - "wordnet"
          -- Go to "Models" tab
          -- Download the module with identifier - "maxnet_treebank_pos_tagger"
          -- Download the module with identifier - "punkt"

          Case 2: GUI Does not open
          -- Press d
          -- It prompts for the identifier => Enter "stopwords" => It gets downloaded
          -- It prompts for the identifier => Enter "wordnet" => It gets downloaded
          -- It prompts for the identifier => Enter "maxent_treebank_pos_tagger" => It gets downloaded
          -- Download the module with identifier - "punkt"

          Exit ipython [or python]


* Procedure to RUN gstudio

  (1) Make sure you are in the virtualenv-folder and it's activated, i.e.
      > source bin/activate

  (2) Move to project-root directory (where your "manage.py" file resides), i.e.
      > cd gstudio/gnowsys-ndf

  (3) Start mongodb server:
      > sudo service mongodb start

  (4) Run following management commands:

      > python manage.py syncdb
      > python manage.py filldb
      > python manage.py sync_existing_documents
      > python manage.py create_index
      > python manage.py runserver

      NOTE: For creating structure related to Course & MIS,
      refer following file: gstudio/doc/schema_setup.og

  (5) Now point your browser to http://localhost:8000 to see
      gstudio on your browser. Enjoy.


* Follow gstudio UPDATE(s)

  Since gstudio is frequently updated, please obtain the latest code
  from project's git repository. After each update run above specified
  management commands in the given order.

  > git pull https://github.com/gnowledge/gstudio.git master
  > git pull origin master  # Or Simply


* For 'Replication' and 'mail-client' features refer: doc/Mailclient


* Edit SCSS/SAAS stylesheet(s)

  (a) Installing Ruby and compass:

      > sudo apt-get install ruby
      > sudo gem install compass

  (b) Running compass:

      (1) Navigate to project-root directory (where your "manage.py" file resides), i.e.
          > cd gstudio/gnowsys-ndf

      (2) Run following command (to start compass) and then edit scss stylesheets:
          > compass watch
