Template preprocessor support?

I’m using an addon that registers a template preprocessor (which turns .embl files into .hbs).

However, it looks like this preprocessor is not being called before a file check happens:

Build Error (RollupWithDependencies)

Could not resolve '../src/ui/components/GlimmerApp/template'

Is this supported, or is there an alternative way to preprocess files -> hbs before this check?
