And I am facing issues to build apk from repo

Is it safe to use apk from f-droid ?

From what I understood, the Google Play version has lacked a lot of the features of the other versions ever since Google tightened restrictions on what applications were allowed to do. Last I heard, the Google Play version can't send SMS, but I'm not sure what else it's lacking.

As far as I know, the apk on F-Droid the same as the one listed in the final release on here. I've been running it for I guess 5 years now without any issue. The source is available on the F-Droid page if you want to comb through it.

I understand that the "theme" command has stopped working, as well as the "call" command, I have version of Android 13. I don't know if this app will continue to be updated, but do you know of any similar ones?

Call still works fine for me... I'm on Android 14. The "message" command works too, but keep in mind that it sends SMS not RCS. I'm running the version on FDroid.

The next closest launcher to this is probably T.E.L. but I found it was much harder on the battery

You are right, it was my device that does not accept commands. The T.E.L launcher Where can I find it? it's not in playstore
