Is it impossible to set html lang attribute without external dependencies at the moment?

Hello.

I'm building my React app in Japanese. I've found that the built index.html using create-react-app automatically sets html lang attribute to "en". Apparently it's possible to change it by Helmet (ref: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/64260574/change-language-on-main-index-html-with-reactjs). I would do if it's the only option, but I think it's ideal if the functionality exists in create-react-app.
