Adding sign off automatically to the commit

I'm evaluating the gitui and I'm wondering if there is an easy way to add the "Sign Off" credential automatically when writting the commit message?

In the git gui I just press the "Sign Off" button and the line:
Signof-by: Lukasz Majwki [email protected] is added automatically to the commit message.

Shall I use the post commit hook? Or is there any other way ?
