After we changed the vscode settings about annotation processing, it has reduced the errors that originally show up before running the code, however, every time we build the code, vscode complains about having these classes defined twice. I think it is easier to have errors that disappear after a single build, than errors that appear after every build, requiring more confirmation.

Further looking into this, this seems only to affect some machines, maybe we should compare our VSCode settings?
