[QUESTION] Future of this project

I have used this project for a long time and it has served me really well over the years!

It has always been well maintained and kept up to date however i have recently started a new project and i am running into dependancy issues

I can see others running into similar issues along with a lot of open issues and pull requests with no sign of movement for over 6 months

I appreciate its not always possible for maintainers to carry on and sometimes life gets in the way but it would be good to know what the plans are for the future of this package and whether we either need to start looking at forking it or switching to other similar packages

Any information around this would be greatly appreciated :)
