Now that it's possible to select multiple blendshapes, there should ideally be a way to preview what the combination looks like.
Blendshape Viewer seems to not preview but directly control the underlying mesh's blendshape values.
Avatar Optimizer previews the mesh in Remove Mesh In Box, so maybe that could be a good starting point to look at?
Alternatively FaceEmo pops up a separate window to preview the mesh, that may also be a good example to look at.
