long delay on locking screen

What Happened?

Whenever I type in my password and is successfully logged in, there's a long delay of a black screen that's showing up every time. Also it shows up before the screen is locked, when I click on the lock button in the power menu.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Appear at the login screen
2. Input login details and click enter
   3.Wait for a long display of a black scree which could last for about 10 - 15 seconds

Expected Behavior

The transition of lock screen to desktop environment isn't smooth as should be.
