MT-32 Pi Hat breakout cable/box/dock

I've ordered a MT-32 Pi Hat for use with Mister (it's intended use case) and I'm wondering if it would be possible to craft a breakout cable/box/dock using the USB 3.0 connector on the Hat to make the Hat usable for other applications. Like a standalone MT-32 clone for use with older computers.

Here's an example, could a breakout box be crafted with a USB 3.0 male connector on one side (connected to the Hat) and the box would have a DIN 5 connector for MIDI input and also have some kind of analog audio connector (probably with a DAC like the PCM5102 inside the box) for audio out? I guess the question is, does the USB 3.0 connection on the Hat supply the necessary things to make this possible?

Maybe another, possibly simpler, way of doing this would be to add the DAC to the Hat (connected to the GPIO pins. I think I've seen that there's room for the DAC in the HAT.), just plug in a USB MIDI interface to the Pi's USB, and just power the Pi directly with normal micro USB powered supply.

P.S. I feel like I'm writing a Dr Seuss book here, "DAC in the Hat."
