how do i use a widget i made AS the widget and not items i added in the widget?

when i add a widget to the skin. i get 3 options inside my widget static, cycling and merged but im trying to use the widget as the widget. not the content inside

I thought about creating a group And add l the group to the widget then point to that But it didn't work out like I wanted
