I asked this as a BPHC ticket but did not get a response after they told me they'd follow up shortly. Wanted to ask again here.
On the Data Elements and FHIR Mapping page of the UDS+ IG (https://fhir.org/guides/hrsa/uds-plus/dataelements.html), it says we should send a patient's live birth weight as a UDS+ Lab Observation resource.
The Lab Observation resource requires a code as part of it (specifically, a LOINC code). HRSA does not specify which LOINC codes to use for live birth weight in the UDS manual.
Can HRSA provide guidance on what LOINC codes they are looking for to determine what Lab Observation resources are for Table 7's Live Birth Weight entries?
In an EHR like Epic, a baby's birth weight may be documented in a dedicated field in the system that is not linked to a discrete LOINC code, and not as a regular lab result that may have an associated LOINC code. In this case, it would be helpful to know what LOINC codes HRSA expects, so we know which ones we can use when constructing the Lab Observation resource from the baby's birth weight field.
