As a researcher on the VRO team responsible for assessing the feasibility of converting decision letter PDFs into HTML, we need to review the resources in the Desk Research tab to ensure the team has a comprehensive understanding of the accessibility guidelines and best practices for developing an HTML version of decision letters, as well as identify any potential gaps and open questions to inform our the next phase of conducting stakeholder interviews.

Methodology:
Review of accessibility standards and best practices (HTML)

  • ADE Team guidelines [Bianca & Katelyn Caillouet]
  • Competitive research: outside examples of accessibility standards & guidelines [Katelyn Caillouet]
  • Section 508 compliance [Bianca]

Review previous OCTO research initiatives

  • DK's Accessibility findings (Benefits Management Tools team) [Bianca]
  • (once completed) VBMS team review of DK's Accessibility findings [Bianca]
  • Crowdsource for similar HTML initiatives across OCTO [Bianca & Katelyn]
  • CC team’s Condition information entry usability study [Bianca]
  • EE team’s PDF research [[Katelyn Caillouet]

AC:

  1. Review all sources above
  2. Develop a summarized report on findings and share these with the enablement team and VRO team
  3. Identify open questions for stakeholder interviews
  4. Clarify if DK's review of one decision letter is enough to base our work off of and if there are any other open questions we should ask immediately
