smoothing / fwhm not used?

I was trying to figure out what "smoothing" option was for, and I have found that this option might not be used in the code. Could you check?

Also, could you set a good default value for n_surfs option and add description on all configuration options so that user knows what to set for each options? Lastly, please set a good description for your github repo? Brainlife uses it for App description - just some basic descrition of what this App does, and maybe what equivolumetric surfaces is?
