Some browsers only show an empty place holder for the video. The most popular browsers show a preview of the first video frame, what is the desired behavior. c789295 fixed it for Safari as explained on this blog. Tested some more with browserstack.com, UC-browser (a squirrel, China?) and Yandex (Russia?) on windows still show an empty placeholder.
