I found out that on firestick when is connected a VPN, the app doesn't seem to connect to the Internet. Only the 2.39.2 version seems not affected by this problem

On your Fire TV Stick use S0undTV - GitHub (Standalone) | S0undTV - Google Play or SmartTV Client for Twitch - GitHub (Standalone) | SmartTV Client for Twitch - Google Play instead, just my two cents.
