This page describes open science resources useful for the RAO (Rare as One) grantee community; please also see our CZI grantees page for general resources available to our grantees. Information presented here may also be useful for other individuals who work to engage and/or support researchers and would like literary in open science approaches to advocate for their usage.

Resources supported by CZI

The following resources are platforms, software, and projects that support open science practices among biomedical researchers:

  • Open Science Resources website: this website, which contains a great deal of information about open science practices
  • EOSS: Essential Open Source Software for Science, a collection of software projects foundational for biomedical research that is available for researchers
  • bioRxiv and medRxiv: free online archive and distribution site for unpublished manuscripts (sometimes called preprints)
  • protocols.io: platform for sharing reproducible scientific research methods
